Beyond crisis care, the organization builds community through safe peer-support spaces, educates parents, schools, and caregivers on how to better support LGBTQ+ youth, conducts research to inform suicide-prevention efforts, and advocates for policies that protect young people’s mental health and safety. Through these combined efforts, The Trevor Project works not only to respond to moments of crisis, but to reduce risk, increase acceptance, and help LGBTQ+ youth feel seen, supported, and valued.
