carmen is the personal project of Carmen Roadifer, who is a founder and co-member of the indie concept duo Cove Grove. While her work in Cove Grove is characterized by complex concepts, whimsical and spooky vocals, and warm, vintage bass playing, her solo project explores a more introspective direction. In contrast, carmen’s solo work blends intimate songwriting with ambient shoegaze and experimental atmospheric textures. The music emphasizes subtle melodies, layered guitars, and dreamy vocals. Built around minimal arrangements and immersive sound design, carmen’s songs unfold slowly, creating space for atmosphere and nuance.
